Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie - VMR 264

Welcome to the website of Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie, your only local Volunteer Marine Rescue Organisation.

Our mission is to protect life on the water with dedication and professionalism

In addition to our primary role of safety on the water, both on the lake and out at sea, Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie provides education to the boating public, including boat & PWC licence courses, Marine Radio (MROCP) courses, meteorology and much more.

Marine Rescue lake Macquarie is available 24/7 for weather reports, radio checks, bridge bookings and of course assists. We also provide a Log on/Log off service for your safety and our Marine Rescue NSW Network will track vessels Coastal Cruising.

All our highly trained members are volunteers, whose time is spent manning the 24/7 radio base at Swansea Heads and our rescue vessels based at Pelican. Fund raising is also a major activity for our members.

Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie receives limited Government funding through licence and registration levies. Much of our funding still relies on public support from local clubs and businesses, MRSS membership, and from our members fund raising activities. Please support our volunteers when you see them, buy a raffle ticket or a sausage. Donations are always gratefully received.
