Swansea Channel – Prohibited use of courtesy poles

The 3 x courtesy poles on the western side of Swansea Bridge have been identified as a potential hazard to persons and vessels if vessels were to be secured to them. The use of these courtesy poles will be prohibited until further notice (see yellow circles in the attached image).
Directions
Transport for NSW advises that in relation to the courtesy poles:
Persons are prohibited to secure to the poles and must comply with any directions given by any Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer in relation to the prohibition or for marine safety. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A – Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).
